Preschool
Our preschool program is a 3-hour structured program with before and after care included in tuition. The program is broken into four areas; Music & Movement, Language Arts, Art & Cooking and Math & Science.
LANGUAGE ARTS prepares students with readiness skills for reading, writing and oral expression. We teach ABC's, shapes, colors, auditory and visual discrimination skills and problem solving skills providing students with a positive social learning experience.
ART/COOKING creates awareness and interest for art and cooking. Reinforcement of monthly themes and opportunity for expression through creative art projects exposes each child to a unique environment of exploration and success. Children are evaluated through observation of class interest and participation after completion of various activities.
MATH/SCIENCE prepares students with readiness skills for counting in sequence, recognition of numerals out of sequence, games, flannel board, chalkboard and other media. Through science, students perform simple experiments and activity sheets in various areas including the 5 senses, weather, nutrition, insects, spiders, birds, fish, dinosaurs, all about me and safety.
MUSIC AND MOVEMENT introduces songs and rhymes that will increase enjoyment of music, expose various styles of music through listening and introduce and identify various musical instruments. We introduce rhythmic concepts such as tempo and beat and learn to keep time with the music through clapping and rhythm instruments. To improve students coordination through exercise, dancing, finger plays, balance beam, parachute play, ball exercises, simple tumbling and body rhythm.
